Campos Fabrication Launches Modular Hydrogen Blending Skid

Campos Fabrication Successfully Launches Modular Hydrogen Blending Skid to Enhance Decarbonization and Sustainability Efforts

Campos Fabrication is pleased to announce the successful launch and commissioning of our latest project, designed to support our clients’ decarbonization and sustainability efforts: a modular Hydrogen Blending Skid. This innovative skid, housed in an 8’x6’ NEMA cabinet, offers a compact, plug-and-play solution for seamlessly blending hydrogen into the natural gas process stream.

Advanced Capabilities and Features

The Hydrogen Blending Skid is engineered to receive natural gas and hydrogen at pressures up to 250 psig, delivering 1 MCFH of a hydrogen/natural gas blend ranging from 2% to 20% hydrogen by volume at a delivery pressure of 60 psig. The skid boasts a comprehensive suite of Emerson products our partner NECI supplies, including metering, analysis, mixing, pressure control, and control systems equipment.

Project Scope and Innovation

This project scope includes an onsite electrolyzer powered by offsite wind energy to generate green hydrogen. The produced hydrogen is blended with the existing natural gas supply within the skid using advanced measurement, mixing, and pressure control instruments. These processes are monitored through a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), enabling remote blend adjustment. The resulting natural gas and hydrogen mix exits the skid, delivering the required gas flows to our client’s commercial office buildings without changing their downstream infrastructure.
